DIY Mother’s Day Flower Flip Card

“Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all'” Proverbs 31:28-29

Mother’s Day is this weekend!

We love to make handmade gifts for our Daycare Mommy’s from their children.

This year we are making a fun flip card.

It is a diy project so it’s not perfect, but it’s perfectly wonderful for children to help make and give to their mammas.

You Will Need

  • Black construction paper for your base
  • Green construction paper for the flower stems
  • Construction paper in the color of your choice for the flower
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Colored pencils
  • Metallic markers (optional)
  • A paper cutter or electronic cutter would also be helpful if you have one. (I do everything by hand.)

First, fold your black paper in half. This will help you determine how large to make your flowers.

Then, cut out your flowers leaving a stem at the bottom. This is where you will glue it to the black paper, so it can be folded down for your flip book affect.

I decided to go with tulips. They have such a cute shape.

Cut your stems to length. I cut ours so they would extend to the bottom of the page.

I did a lot of the cutting and prep work, because the kiddos are still working on cutting independently.

Begin gluing once everything is cut out.

Glue your pink flower on by only gluing down the bottom flap. We assisted just a little. Our little ones love to glue.

Glue the stem so that it is covering the flap . Stop at the bottom of the flower. This is where you will fold it down to make the flip book effect.

The kids colored the leaves for the flowers using a green colored pencil.

Once the kids were finished coloring I wrote, “I ♥️ you” under the flowers.

I used a metallic marker for this, because mammas need some shimmer.

I also wrote, “Happy Mother’s Day” on the front of the cards.

I used colored pencils and metallic markers when doing this. I wrote the words by hand; however, there are so many options anymore for printing.

You could use stamps, stencils, or the printer.

The kids really enjoyed making their cards.

They love doing sweet things for their mother’s.

Sigh…..sweetness abounds.

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” Proverbs 31:25

I hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day and…
